ITINERARY
- Take a tour with your Chef/Guide through Darajani for the market tour and learn on our culture of buying and have some Zanzibar local Market experience. Going early in the morning while the food is fresh is advised. The outskirts of the market and you’re bound to bump into some interesting sights, sounds, and smells. Inside Darajani Market, things are actually quite organized. There’s a section for fresh Vegetables, Fruits, Meat, Zanzibari Spices and Seafood. If you're interested in daily life and culture, make sure you Visit the market.
- After shopping, we will take a private transfer to Kizimbani Village in the central part of Zanzibar to Taste and Smell The Island Spices & Herbs in the Spice Farm. A walk through the farms as spice farms workers climb trees, seek out specific plants and cuts off various barks, letting you see, feel and taste everything. You will be decorated with palm-leaf accessories such as ties, rings, bracelets and glasses.
- End your day with Exotic Swahili Cooking Lessons in the local spice farm. The chef will guide you to use the ingredients and practice the cooking in Zanzibar styles. You’ll learn not just about the recipes and the cooking procedures, but also the history and the stories related to the different dishes you will cook. From a variety of suggestions, you can choose one dish you prefer in learning to cook from the Sample Menu. At the end of the hands-on cooking session, we sit down around and enjoy the meal together.
