The centrepiece of Kalba Hanging Gardens is the artificial waterfall which cascades down several levels in to a small lake, calming, cooling and serene. At night the waterfall is lit up. The stunning restaurant, in the garden, which can seat 215 people is of a classic semi-circular architectural design and provides views of the gardens and waterfall. The designated recreational areas for children are divided into three sections based on age groups. There are also mountain climbing routes with three varying difficulty levels, showcasing agricultural terraces, waterfalls, lush trees, and colourful flowers along the way. Beginners to experts will enjoy the skateboard area situated within the park.

The newly-built amphitheater covers over 1700m2 and can accommodate over 3500 spectators. It was designed with a state-of-the-art cooling system, making it the ideal out-door venue for upcoming events. Hungry visitors can also sample delicious dishes at the amphitheater’s restaurant and café. A magnificent 45m-high waterfall cascades down next to the amphitheater. Although the waterfall is man-made, it was carved out of natural rock and is often illuminated at night. The structure was built with viewing windows at the top, which are sometimes open to the public. From there, visitors can watch water flow down the rock. Both the amphitheater and waterfall face Khorfakkan’s shimmering bay, so visitors can enjoy a wander along the beach before enjoying a spectacular show.

- The new Sharjah – Khorfakkan highway opens up a vista of the beautiful Al Rafisah Dam. Originally built in the 1980s, the dam has had an upgrade with a new visitor centre and rest area. Travel time from Sharjah to Khorfakkan has been reduced to 45 minutes, due to the new road, allowing more visitors to enjoy the serene pleasures of the area where a large, clear lake with boating facilities is overlooked by the magnificent Hajar mountains. The Najd Al Maqsar area stands as a living testament to a rich history dating back thousands of years. Located in the heart of a “Wadi” (river bed), it is home to a historic fort, established nearly 300 years ago on the summit of the mountain. This land was once inhabited by a tribe, who settled near the abundant water source of the nearby wadi which allowed for an “al falaj” irrigation system which watered the land. The village comprises 13 old houses dating back to nearly a century, which the people then used as a refuge from the floods. Moreover, according to archaeological studies, rocks engraved with drawings of camels and horses dating back to 2,000 years BC were found in the area.
