ITINERARY
- Early in the morning at 6:00 am, your driver-guide will pick you up and drive 190km on the tarmac road to the Ngorongoro Conservation gate. Drive to the Crater Rim and spend a few minutes the awesome view of the Crater from the top and descend into the crater floor for a day of game drives. Ngorongoro Crater is one of the largest intact caldera in the world and one of the most spectacular sights in the whole of Africa. All the Big Five i.e. rhino, lion, leopard, buffalo and elephant live in this wonderful caldera. Others are zebra, hippo, wildebeest, hyena and more, birds include flamingos on the soda lake, geese, storks, vultures, and many more other bird families. You'll later ascend the Crater driving back to Arusha where we will offer you the airport drop-off.
- The Ngorongoro crater is one of the few places in Tanzania where you are likely to see the endangered black rhino as a small population of them reside in this protected area. Many Flamingoes are also attracted to the soda waters of Lake Magadi.
- Flamingos at Lake Magadi: Lake Magadi, a shallow soda lake in the crater, is a habitat for flamingos. Witness the stunning sight of these elegant birds wading through the water.
- Hippopotamus Pools: The crater also features hippo pools where you can observe these semi-aquatic mammals lounging in the water and interacting with each other.
- Maasai Culture: You may encounter Maasai communities in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Learn about their culture, traditions, and coexistence with wildlife in this unique region.
- Scenic Views: The Ngorongoro Crater offers breathtaking vistas with its dramatic landscapes, including lush grasslands, acacia forests, and open savannahs. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to take in the stunning scenery.
- Abundant Birdlife: Birdwatchers will delight in the diverse avian species found in the crater and surrounding areas. Keep an eye out for eagles, vultures, and a wide array of other birds.
