ITINERARY

• As one of the most charming cities along the Mediterranean coastline, Antalya is a worthwhile stop on any trip to Turkey, and close enough to discover the Kekova and Demre region. For convenience, the tour starts with an early morning transfer from your preferred meeting point in Antalya. * We will ensure a relaxing journey to Demre that takes just under 2.5 hours.
• We’ll head to Demre harbour where the boat awaits you for the start of your trip to Kekova. Once the anchor is raised, away we go!
• Discover the fascinating secrets of Kekova’s history on this unique adventure around the Sunken City. The ancient city of Dolchiste was flooded due to an earthquake in the 2nd century, and its resulting underwater ruins never fail to leave an impression.
• Since this is a protected area, swimming is not permitted here, so what better way to explore the site than by cruising alongside the ruins on our boat, giving you the chance to capture unforgettable photos.
• Our boat will drop anchor in Kaleköy port (ancient Simena) for one hour, giving you time to visit this small authentic village that’s home to castle ruins and a necropolis.
• A hike up the hillside will give you magnificent views of the Kekova region. If you’d prefer to admire Simena Castle from down below, you can use your remaining time to take another dip in the gorgeous blue waters. Castle of Simena Entrance Ticket: 1 euro
• Time for a lunch and swim break at beautiful Esmeralda Bay where you can enjoy peace and tranquility during this fun journey.
• Enjoy the peaceful ambiance of this area during a swim break in Burç Bay, where the water feels cooler due to cold underwater natural springs!
• We’ll stop to swim in Gökkaya Bay, where you can experience the natural beauty of the area and opt to participate in one of the various exciting water sports on offer.
• Karemlik Bay There are 8 known types of turtles worldwide, 5 of which can be found in the Mediterranean. At Karemlik Bay, you’ll have the chance to look for these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. Demre Harbour After your fascinating trip on the water, our boat will drop anchor in Demre port, where your tour continues with a visit to a nearby museum.
• Your chance to discover Demre’s most famous archeological site! A true step back in history as you observe some of Myra’s most significant ancient ruins dating as far back as the 5th century B.C.
• There is plenty of time to explore the two highlights of this stop: a Roman-style theatre (the largest in Lycia!) and eerie rock-cut tombs carved into the cliffs above.
• Our tour continues with the Santa Claus Museum in Demre town centre. Originally built in 520 A.D., this interesting archeological building started its operation as a church, built in memory of St. Nicholas of Myra, a 4th-century patron saint. Here you can explore the remains of this former church, taking yourself back in time to when the ancient city of Myra still existed.
• Once all destinations have been explored, we’ll take you back to the bustling city of Antalya, where your tour ends. From here you can get back to exploring the sights of Antalya and enjoying the Mediterranean coastline.
