- Dolmabahçe Palace was built by the thirty-first Ottoman sultan, Sultan Abdülmecid. Dolmabahçe Palace, designed with a Western understanding in accordance with the modernization goal of the Ottoman Empire, was opened for use on June 7, 1856. The construction of this magnificent palace, whose construction started on June 13, 1843, took 13 years.
- Büyük Mecidiye Mosque or Ortaköy Mosque is a Neobaroque style mosque located on the coast in the Ortaköy district of Beşiktaş district, on the Bosphorus in Istanbul. The mosque was built by Sultan Abdülmecid in 1853 by architect Nigoğos Balyan of Armenian origin.
