ITINERARY
- We take you from your hotel. The first place that we are going to visit is known as Göreme Panorama where you may see a lot of rock formations of cappadocia.
- And then we are going to visit Pigeon Valley. In this valley you will have a chance to feed the lovely pigeons and see a lot of pigeon cages. Optionally, we will see to jewellery work shop and you have a chance to buy it.
- This underground city has been used primarily for comfort and defense purposes since the early Christian periods. The city consists of numerous tunnels, passages, rooms, and galleries, constructed at different levels. The underground city includes ventilation and defense systems along with rooms and corridors. This structure has been designed to accommodate and fulfill the needs of hundreds of people.
- Ihlara Valley is located in the Aksaray province of Central Anatolia in Turkey and spans an area of approximately 14 kilometers along the Melendiz River. The valley features steep rock walls that rise up to 100 meters, lush greenery, and a picturesque river. With its rock-cut churches and hiking trails, the valley holds historical significance.
- After completing our hike in Ihlara Valley, we will take a break here for lunch.
- The history of the monastery dates back to between the 8th and 9th centuries, reaching the Byzantine period, and it has served as a center of religious and social life in the region. The monastery includes a grand cathedral, small chapel rooms, living spaces, and tunnels.
