ITINERARY
- The Blue Mosque (Sultanahmed Camii) is the most important religious temple in Istanbul. It has six minarets and was built by Sultan Ahmed I.
- Hagia Sophia or, as the Turks call it, Ayasofya, is the symbol of Istanbul. It was built during the rule of Justinian between 532 and 537 and is one of the masterpieces of Byzantine art.
- Some columns and obelisks attract visitors who come to Sultanahmet Square. It is located in the heart of Istanbul – formerly Constantinople; even further back, Byzantium. And its stones preserve the memory of the times when a famous racecourse was built there. This wooded corner, surrounded by the most important tourist monuments of the city, is like a kind of passage to yesterday, to the time of magic and splendor of old Byzantium.
- The cisterns are tanks that were built so that the city would have water reserves in case it was attacked. Another name (much more attractive) by which the cistern is known is "Submerged Palace".
- An old religious school to have tea or coffee.
- The Grand Bazaar, one of the largest and oldest markets in the world, is a magical and mythical corner of Istanbul. Don't forget to check it out.
