ITINERARY
- We will meet you at your Istanbul Hotel at around 04:00 - 05:00 am then transfer you to Istanbul Airport. When you arrive to the airport, you make your self-check-in and take your flight to Izmir(Ephesus). Upon arrival to Izmir Airport, our team will be waiting for you at the exit gate of the domestic terminal. They will be holding a board which is your name written on it. After an hour transfer, you will met the rest of the group and start your Full-Day Tour.
- Ephesus, an ancient Greek city that rose to prominence as a Roman seaport from the 2nd century AD. With your guide, stroll around the semi-intact streets past the shells of long-ago shops and houses, and learn fascinating facts about life in the city during its Roman golden age. Awe at highlights such as the façade of the Library of Celsus and Hadrian’s Temple and gaze at the massive Great Theater, where St Paul once preached.
- The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus was a great building belonging to the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It was the largest building in the Hellenistic world, surpassing even the Athenian Parthenon, and the first monumental structure built entirely of marble.
- You can see Saint John Basilica from distance. It is believed that the Evangelist St. John had spent his last years in the region around Ephesus and buried in the southern slope of Ayosolug Hill. The tomb of St John was under the central dome of basilica. Just ask to your guide if you would like to see interior part of basilica.
- Isa bey Mosque is one of the finest examples of Seljuk architecture in Anatolia and the oldest ones in the area
- House of the Virgin Mary where mother of Jesus Christ spent her final years. Pope Paul VI visited the shrine in 1967, and 'unofficially' confirmed its authenticity. Pope John Paul II also visited the shrine in 1979. Pope Benedict XVI visited this shrine in 2006. While their visiting, they gave some gifts for this shrine what you can see during your visit.
- At the end of the Tour, we will make our way back to Airport for an hour drive and you will have your flight back to Istanbul. When you arrive to the Istanbul Airport, we will meet you at the exit gate of the domestic terminal in Istanbul Airport where you will see our team holding a sign. Then transfer back to your Hotel in Istanbul.
