ITINERARY
- Your Egyptologist guide will provide a comfortable transfer by air-conditioned vehicle from your Luxor hotel or Nile Cruise to Aswan, with a stop at the impressive Edfu Temple en route. Dedicated to the falcon god Horus, the temple's intricate reliefs offer valuable insight into ancient Egyptian religious and political beliefs.
- It's time to take a break for lunch. Once you've finished your meal, we'll head to the impressive High Dam. This structure is considered one of the most significant accomplishments of the past century in Egypt, as it contains 18 times the material used in the Great Pyramid of Cheops. Not only does it provide the country with water and electricity, but it also protects Egypt from the destructive flooding of the Nile River.
- Next, you'll explore the Temple of Isis at Philae. Construction of the temple began during the reign of Ptolemy II and was completed under the Roman emperors. It was dedicated to the goddess Isis, who was considered the mother of all gods, the mother of Horus, and the consort of Osiris.
- Continuing on, we will visit the Unfinished Obelisk, an impressive example of ancient Egyptian stone-cutting techniques. This obelisk is believed to have been commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut during the 18th Dynasty. After the tour, we will transfer you back to your hotel or Nile Cruise in Luxor.
