Originally known as Bloemkoolfontein, the farm was later renamed Fairview due to its stunning views and surrounding landscape. Today, the farm is still owned by the Back family. • Located in Stellenbosch and Established in 2004, the farm is known for its high quality wines and picturesque landscapes. The farm in named after the owner's mother, Marianne Wessels, indicating a personal touch. Stellenbosch is typically known for its Mediterranean climate, characterized by warm, dry summers, and mild, wet winters. The climate is well-suited for grape cultivation and often contributes high quality of wines produced in the region. At Marianne, they also believe that the red wine goes well with 'Biltong', (South African term for Jerkey), as it enhance the flavors of both.
• Known to be the second oldest town in the country, Stellenbosch is known for its picturesque vineyards, historic Cape Dutch architecture, and its prestigious Stellenbosch University, known for its academic and research excellence. The town has well preserved Cape Dutch architecture, characterized by white washed buildings with thatched roofs, ornate garbles, and distinctive architectural features.
