ITINERARY
- Depart early in the morning heading to Dar es Salaam‘s South beach, just 8 km from the city centre. You will be picked up from Dar City Centre and transferred to Kigamboni on the south coast of Dar es Salaam. The dhow trip starts around 09:00 AM and returns to Kipepeo around 04.30 PM. The boat used is a traditional dhow. We head to Sinda Island Marine Reserve, where guests walk around the island and go snorkelling. It is a very relaxed trip greatly enjoyed by tourists. After snorkelling, lunch is served on a deserted beach on the island. After the trip you will be transferred back to Dar City centre. The clear offshore waters are home to a vast array of colourful starfish, tropical fish and coral reefs providing excellent snorkelling. Pods of dolphins often accompany the dhow on its voyage to the islands. Includes: Transfer to and from Kipepeo Beach, fuel, marine park fee, picnic lunch, non-alcoholic drinks, and snorkelling equipment
- Sinda actually consists of “Inner” Sinda and “outer” Sinda islands that are part of a larger coral reef formation. The formation makes Sinda one of the best islands off Dar es Salaam for snorkeling, surrounded by patch reefs that harbour a variety of species such as tiny clownfish and huge moray eels. Sinda Island is also famed as a quiet spot favoured by honeymooners and people just enjoying a day trip with a picnic. It is about 15km offshore but getting there is simple, with boats departing daily from Kipepeo beach and a chance to see dolphins on the way.
- The ocean water here is very clean there are no rocks or sea urchins around making it an ideal and safe beach for swimming even at low tide! Watch the fishermen sail by in their dhows or take a walk on the beach.
