Please keep in mind that Gnawa musicians, or a tip is required, therefore one of the two options is obligatory otherwise you can skip them and continue directly to the Lead Mines in Mefes is a small almost abandoned town on the other side of the Erg Chebbi dunes, known for its minerals mines such as iron, zinc, and lead in particular.
