- Topkapı is a large museum in the east of the Fatih district of Istanbul in Turkey.The heart of the Ottoman Empire, Topkapi Palace was the residence of sultans and their harem, and the center of state administration. The museum showcases Ottoman treasures, sacred relics, and valuable collections. (Topkapı Palace is closed on Tuesday,replaced with Basilica Cistern.)
